After a long winter of rain and snow, the month of May has been filled with warmer weather, long trail rides and of course, FOALS! This month we welcomed EIGHT beautiful and healthy babies into our practice, all born within days of each other. It has been a busy month to say the least, but seeing healthy mares and foals running around makes it all worthwhile! The first to be born, on her due date, was out of Rumba, a dun Quarter Horse filly. Two hours later, Blink (Illusion), a cremello pony colt with 4 white stockings, was born to Vision. A few days later, Skye gave birth to Heatherdowne Key Player, a grey pony x TB filly. We only had one week’s rest before two more babies popped out one hour apart of each other! Monita gave birth to Demi (Diamond Star), a black Warmblood filly and Gydgette gave birth to a chestnut Warmblood cross filly named Avah. One of our client’s had two Quarter Horse mares foal out, one in Northern BC and the other locally, right before the May long weekend. TK gave birth to Jetn Judge Hula, a dun filly, then Six popped out a palomino filly named Triple Sixes. Last but not least, over the last weekend in May, Trinity gave birth to Siria (Siria de Rosa), a chestnut Warmblood filly. For those of you counting, there have been 7 fillies and one colt born so far with 2 more due next month. Everyone is doing well, foals, mares and horse owners included! We are so excited to have been a part of the life of these new foals, from their creation last year to their highly anticipated welcome this May. Congratulations everyone!
